Welcome
At Red Oak Farm, we aim to raise our cattle and sheep on year-round pasture varying of native Texas grass, perennial bermuda, rye, wheat grasses, alfalfa and clover. Our cattle and sheep have never been given antibiotics, hormones or steroids. They are living free range in a natural, stress-free environment that is fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide and chemical-free. Raised on a rotational pasture plan with a wild herd mentality, we believe this system enhances the health of the animals and their environment.
Soil improvements made to the land in the last three and a half years include a microbial spray, manure composting, Redmond soil conditioner and Redmond salt, as well as diatomaceous earth applications to control parasites. Non-chemical natural homemade sprays of essential oils are used as repellents for flies and other insects to make life easier for all on the farm.
Our hope is to continue our commitment in growing our herd on this organic and natural journey, following USDA organic certification requirements plus more. We are committed to land stewardship and to produce the most nutricious, most flavorful, and best quality artisan grass-fed beef for our family, friends and customers to enjoy.
